My Story
The Financial Planning Career That Started With My Own Blind Spot
I did not get into financial planning because I loved spreadsheets or studied it in school. I got into it because I lived through the exact gap I now help other women close.
I started my career in finance back in 2003, but once my husband and I had young kids, our household fell into a familiar pattern: we divided things up. He took certain responsibilities, I took others, and for years that felt efficient.
What it also meant, though, was that there were pieces of our full financial picture I was not close to. I was not alone in that, it is a pattern so common among couples that most women who admit it to me expect to feel embarrassed and instead feel relieved someone else understands.
The moment I actually sat down and saw everything laid out, the accounts, the coverage, the plan, was one of the most empowering moments of my career, personally and professionally. It is the reason this work matters so much to me now.
If part of your financial life feels like “his side” of the ledger instead of “ours,” I would love to help you get the full picture.
